Golf Swing Fitness Training Produces Power

July 30th, 2008

When a golfer is desperate for power in their golf swing fitness training via dvds, books, ebooks and membership sites should be choice number one.

What is golf swing fitness?

It’s pretty self explanatory! When you implement exercises, streches and drills specific to your golf swing, you will reap the quickest benefits. I call it targeted golf swing training.

Many golfers go to a gym, plop down in a machine and then wonder why their swing doesn’t getting any better, and why aren’t they hitting their drives longer.

First off…the golf swing is done standing, not sitting.

Secondly the golf swing is dynamic and free-flowing, not controlled like machines are.

Thirdly your golf swing muscles should be used as closely to your golf swing mechanics as possible. In fact, picture swinging a weighted golf club. You can’t get any more golf specific than that. Replicating the exact movement, but with resistance.

So if you’re looking to add power to your golf swing, take a serious look at golf specific fitness.

Golf Fitness Stretching For A Tension-Free Swing

July 9th, 2008

Do you have tension in your golf swing? Tight golf swing muscles create tension and rapidly deplete your swing of power and distance. A golf fitness stretching routine targeting your golf swing specific muscles will be a must if you want to remove tension.

Stretching your golf muscles is a very effective way to not only eliminate tension, but to improve golf swing technique, sequence of motion, stability and body control.

There are so many simple stretches you can do in a matter of minutes that will literally transform your golf swing. All you need is some guidance and direction whether it be a golf fitness training system or hiring a personal golf fitness trainer in your locale.

Either way, this is one of the MOST effective ways to improve your golf swing that you cannot deny golf fitness stretching anymore.

Golf Specific Fitness For Booming Drives

July 1st, 2008

If you’re like most of the golfers playing golf, you want to hit longer drives. Golf specific fitness training is the approach you MUST take if you want up to 30 yards on your drives.

You see…the golf swing is dynamic and requires a high level of both strength and flexibility to repeat for 18 holes. It is IMPOSSIBLE to accomplish this without focusing on golf specific fitness exercises and stretches. Like any other sport, you need to analyze the specific movements and replicate them with resistance exercises.

An approach like this is the FASTEST way to LONGER drives!

You may have heard the term golf specific fitness, but there are many so-called programs that are specific for golf and they AREN’T. They are GENERAL fitness programs that will NOT help golfers hit longer drives.

One example of a VERY golf specific exercise is swinging a weighted golf club. You cannot get anymore specific than that. This is a great exercise that will directly improve your golf swing muscular strength.

If you have that kind of mindset with golf specific fitness you are well on your way to BETTER GOLF!

Fitness For Golf For Senior Golfers

June 8th, 2008

Senior GolferThe most important thing a senior golfer can do is work on their physical limitations (declining physical abilities). The aging process can be rapid if you don’t stay up with it. Instead of accepting you should be weaker and tighter as you get older, why “buck the system” and fight it all the way?

Senior golfers NEED fitness for golf!

Lack Of Distance

One of the biggest complaints from senior golfers is lack of driving distance. I’ve played with many senior golfers and most of them are nearly disgusted with their lack of distance off the tee. I’ve asked most of them what they’re doing about it and NONE of them say they are working on their fitness. What! You’ve got to be kidding me!

If you can’t hit a golf ball as long as you want it, don’t you think their might be some physical limitations causing this? HELLO! The first thing you should do is evaluate your CURRENT physical status both strength and flexibility.

Once you figure out your limitations, implement a golf fitness program to improve it. It’s not rocket science, but most senior golfers don’t (and won’t) do it.

Golf Injuries

As we all get older it gets tougher and tougher to avoid aches and pains. For golfers, it’s even tougher. The golf swing puts so much stress on the spine and joints, that if you’re not in decent shape you will inevitably incur pains and/or injuries that will keep you off the course.

The ONLY way to prevent injuries is fitness for golf.  Once you start strengthening and stretching your golf swing specific muscles your body will be able to withstand the stress of your golf swing. It’s a “no-brainer”. You’ve got to do this! I can’t see this strong enough. If you don’t…just expect a rapid decline in your performance and physical abilities. Playing golf injured is not fun.

It’s Time To Do It

If you’ve read this far…are you convinced yet? Do you have a better understanding of your current game? If you haven’t taken the fitness for golf approach and you’re a senior golfer it’s time to START right NOW!

If you need a step-by-step golf fitness system fear not! You’ll want to check out Mike Pedersen’s Fitness For Golf System. Simple golf exercises and stretches you can do right in your home. NO gym required!

What Is Golf Fitness?

June 5th, 2008

Many golfers might not even know the term golf fitness. It’s a term more common for personal trainers and fitness professionals, but it is becoming more mainstream in the golfing community. Is there even such a thing as golf fitness?

Let me explain.

Like any sport (and golf is definitely a sport) you need to “prepare your body to perform“. It is virtually impossible to expect consistently good scores and maximum distance if you don’t get your body in shape for golf. The stress and wear-and-tear the golf swing puts on the spine, lower back and all the major joints is unbelievable. It is brutal on your body.

Golfers play with injuries including lower back, hips, wrists, elbows, shoulders and even knees most of the time. I thought golf was a leisure game? Nope! The golf swing as mentioned above can literally destroy your body in a short period of time. The end result is not being able to play anymore, or making compensations in your golf swing for all those aches, pains and injuries.

With all this bad news there is hope.

Here comes fitness for golf!

If you partake in an exercise and stretching program specific to your golf swing you will avoid and prevent most injuries from every happening. You’ll also add many yards to all your drives as well as dramatically improve your consistency. You see…if you can strengthen and loosen up your golf swing muscles you’ll be able to perform a very efficient and repeatable golf swing. This will enhance your golf score and driving distance. If you can make a FULL backswing with no tension, you store maximum torque in your core area When the torque is unleashed into the ball, you will rocket that ball off your clubface! You will be hitting your shots longer and straighter than you have in years.

So yes…there is such a thing as GOLF FITNESS! There is no denying it anymore. If you want to achieve your FULL potential, you will sooner or later come around to this approach to your golf improvement or you’ll be left in the dust with all your golfing buddies. You’ll be the laughing stock of your group. Do you want that? I’ll bet not!

So get on the FITNESS FOR GOLF bandwagon RIGHT NOW!

Welcome To Fitness For Golf

June 4th, 2008

Thank you for visiting Fitness For Golf! This site will educate you and inform you of resources that will improve your golf swing power, distance, technique, consistency and swing mechanics with an approach that is revolutionary.

You see…your body dictates your golf outcome!

What do I mean by that? Your physical limitations are what’s keeping you from a near perfect golf swing. Let me ask you…have you felt like you should be making a bigger backswing, and no matter how hard you try you just can’t? It’s because your body won’t let you, and unless you address the physical limitation causing this, you will NEVER achieve a full backswing…resulting in short drives that never find the fairway.

Now turns this around. You apply some simple golf exercises and stretches for that specific limitation and all of a sudden you are making a FULL backswing and blasting your drives 30 yards further! How’s that sound? It’s a reality when you take the golf fitness approach.

Visit this site often as you’ll see many golf fitness resources from the most credible golf fitness trainer on the net and quite possibly in the world…Mike Pedersen.
